Doing something incredible only starts with those willing to rebel against the norm. A decade ago, Oklahoma craft beer was not only limited but in a lot of ways safe. That’s why our founders, Blaine Stansel & Tony Tielli, after meeting through a homebrew club, had the idea to start their own brewery. This brewery wouldn’t focus on the typical. This brewery would push the limits of both style and flavor with aggressive, hop-forward beers paving the way for massive growth in Oklahoma’s craft beer community.
Starting a brewery ten years ago with beers that were aggressive and unique required us to be a little rough around the edges and find our own way of doing things. After a very short stint in downtown OKC, we packed up our little brewery pieces and moved to our first real home in Midwest City, OK. After several chaotic months of negotiations and preparations, we held our official brewery launch party at Tapwerks Ale House on April 1st, 2013. It wasn’t always pretty and definitely not always smooth. However, since day one, we have done things in our own rough way.
In less than a decade, we’ve gone from a small 10 BBL brewhouse system in a 5,000 sq feet production space to a 30 BBL state-of-the-art system. Our current distribution footprint covers the entire state of Oklahoma, Kansas as well as North Texas. It’s been one hell of a ride but we’re nowhere near being done. We’ve got big plans for our team, our brewery, and our ever-growing territory.
